How I solved my RSI hand

Published on March 6, 2026•Updated on March 6, 2026

After a busy month of lots of work and computer time, even in the evenings, I started to get a lot of pain in my right wrist - my primary hand. A few colleagues had experienced similar problems a while back, so a bit anxious I immediately visited the doctor. / Luckily for me, there were no nervous system issues. It was "just" strain.

Two core things that helped me:

  • Rest. Lots of rest. Immediately stopping work whenever I had pain in my hand.
  • A trackball mouse. Not a vertical mouse, but a trackball mouse. This alleviated SO much of my pain.

Furthermore, a good, ergonomic work posture is of course very helpful. Just as stretching and movement.
