I get annoyed sometimes by the laziness of some people. On TikTok, people will constantly comment: "What's the song?", "What's the movie?", "What's that product?" when the information is mentioned either verbally in the video, or even more prevalent written in the subtitles shown on their screen or in the caption.
It's a lack of resourcefulness. There's no critical thinking and troubleshooting.
So a little points on how I think you can be more agentic:
- Google it before asking. Usually there are no dumb questions, but if you can find it in 1 single google search, you shouldn't ask someone else.
- It is very much okay if things are hard at first. Not everything has to be easy.
- Sloooooow down. Everything moves so quickly, but it can be very helpful to read instruction, try a few times, and take your time.
- Everything is learnable!
- Improve your independent decision-making by
- Time-bound thinking: only give yourself X time to make the decision
- Remind yourself that you'll always figure it out
- Trust yourself
- You don't have to be imprisoned by your own rules. Perfect is the enemy of done. Doing things 50% is better than doing nothing. Sloppy success beats perfect failure.
It also makes me think about how the world rewards audacity, not potential.
